Certain widgets can only be added to certain zones.
"Why," you ask? Because we want profile pages to have freedom of customization, but also to have some consistency. This way, when anyone visits a deviant, they know they can always find the art in the top left, and personal info in the top right.
Don't forget, restraints can bring out the creativity in you!

Thank you for your Photoshop advice. I'll be driving into the city this weekend, I think I'll browse the book store and see if I can find a book that is basic enough to show me the tools without overloading me with information. I'm usually very good with picking up new software but I always seem to benefit from having somebody to ask for help whenever I get stuck. Maybe a book can help me through those "kill something" frustrations you speak of as I muddle through and teach myself.
